If you already live inside 38138, you know the summer script by heart. Pool at the Great Hall, dinner somewhere along Poplar, the Saturday morning loop through Municipal Park, repeat. What most residents have not yet noticed is that the calendar quietly shifted this year, and the shift lands on two consecutive weeknights that used to belong to the couch.
Germantown's summer is no longer a list of standalone events. It is a Thursday-Friday spine, anchored at GPAC and Bobby Lanier Farm Park, that is about to be flanked by two Poplar Avenue dining rooms that will convert the mile between them from a drive-through corridor into a walk-between one.
The Thursday-Friday Spine Most Residents Aren't Running Yet
The pieces have existed separately for years. GPAC has been hosting Concerts in The Grove since the outdoor venue opened, and Bobby Lanier Farm Park has been running a farmers' market at 2660 Cross Country Drive on Thursday evenings. What the city adjusted for 2026 is the market schedule, and the adjustment matters more than the press release made it sound.
